Where it all began
In 2017 iconic French restaurant Montrachet closed its doors at Paddington and re-opened at fresh new premises on King street, Bowen Hills that December. In addition to the new dining room the Montrachet Boulangerie was built behind the kitchen as a retail bakery; viennoiserie, bread, baguette, pies and coffee were the offerings at the Machinery Street shop.
Soon realising the operation had outgrown the space, the search for a new site commenced. Fortunately we did not have to look far, with the perfect location being around the corner on King Street, Bowen Hills. The inception of the King Street Bakery swiftly followed with the view to expanding the range and adding a la carte breakfast options.
